Now and then, when I fall off the wagon- going back to binge-watching movies after taking an arbitrary break- I find myself looking for a new media form to consume and compulsively obsess over. The other day, a short film titled Pop Monsters on Alter’s YouTube channel slid across my desk, and I found myself falling down a rabbit hole faster than Alice in Wonderland. When a teenage girl scores tickets to the concert of the year, she decides to play a game with her three best friends to determine who gets to go.

After watching this phenomenal horror short exposing the parasocial mob mentality of the mass general public, I was inspired. Inspired not only to write, cause we know it’s been a while since that has happened over here, but also inspired to uncover more of these horror stories, so of course I have compiled a list of my favorites for you to enjoy as well. So grab a drink, get comfortable, and enjoy this list of 10 (in no particular order) must-watch horror shorts.

As an enthusiastic horror connoisseur, I am always looking to uncover new projects and new people. Personally, in this house, it’s always horror movie season, but I know for many others that is not the case, so I welcome you to explore more of what this genre has to offer- for free on YouTube isn’t that great! Movies and art in general are subjective, so just because you don’t enjoy something doesn’t mean that’s true for everyone else. Art and cinema specifically are media meant to be shared, so let’s experience more of these media together. Til next time, stay flirty, stay thirsty. Watch more movies together. Make more movies together.

See you soon,

Paige B.

p.s. it feels so good to be back
